1. In a Room, Still Alone
I can be surrounded by people and still feel invisible.
I laugh at the right jokes.
I say all the “normal” things.
But inside, it’s just… quiet.
Like I’m watching life from the outside.
And no one’s really looking back.
I’m not asking for a spotlight.
Just for someone to see past the version I perform.
2. The Silence After the Scroll
Sometimes I open my phone just to feel connected.
A notification. A “hey.” Anything.
And when nothing’s there—again—
it hits harder than I expected.
It’s not that I want constant attention.
I just want to matter in someone’s day.
Even for five seconds.
3. When I Don’t Even Know What to Say
People ask, “What’s wrong?”
And I don’t have an answer.
Because loneliness isn’t always caused by something.
It just… shows up.
Sits beside me.
Follows me home.
I wish I could explain it.
But sometimes, even words feel too far away.
4. I Test People Without Realizing It
Sometimes I don’t reply.
Sometimes I cancel plans last minute.
Not because I want to push people away—
but because I want to know who notices.
Who’ll check in anyway.
Who won’t give up.
It’s a messy way to ask for connection.
But when you feel this alone,
you start grasping for any sign that someone really sees you.
5. The Kind of Loneliness That Doesn’t Go Away in Crowds
I’ve tried going out.
Tried filling my schedule.
But there’s a difference between being busy and being okay.
This kind of loneliness isn’t solved with noise.
It’s the kind that needs someone to say,
“I feel it too.”
And until that happens,
I’ll keep pretending.
Because sometimes pretending is easier than explaining.
